Two Nigerians who duped a woman out of more than £1.5m after posing as love interests online have been jailed for 2 years each.

31 year old Ify Ojo and Olusegun Agbaje took part in a so called Romance scam and conned the woman out of the cash over a 10 month period. They were both sentenced at Basildon Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to defraud.

The Metropolitan Police Cyber Crime Unit says it has investigated the sum of £4m from 100 victims over the last year.

A BBC investigation has found that scammers who ruthlessly target vulnerable men and women using these sites, are making tens of millions of pounds a year.
