Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria  Godswill Akpabio, was flown out of the country for medical treatment following at road traffic accident involving his car and a vehicle belonging to the American embassy in Abuja]

According to eye-witnesses, the driver of the governor’s car had ignored traffic lights and ploughed straight into the American Embassy’s vehicle.

Mr. Akpabio was travelling in a convoy of vehicles towards the City Gate when the accident occurred.

Earlier in May 2015. Mr Akpabio has commissioned a brand new hospital in his home state Akwa Ibom. But one wonders, why he couldn’t seek treatment for his injuries in this same hospital instead of flying out of the country
