Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has finally taken the plunge into marriage.
She and husband Benji Madden tied the knot at her Beverly Hills mansion Monday evening following a nine-month romance.
The 42-year-old actress delivered a touching toast to her 35-year-old groom, telling their 127 guests she’s happy she held out for Mr. Right.
‘I waited because I didn’t want to settle,’ the Sex Tape star said at the couple’s wedding reception, flashing her famous mega-watt smile.
‘Now I got the best man ever. My special man. He’s mine.’ she gushed.
The tattooed musician inspired laughter when he remarked: ‘I only asked to be in control of two things: The music and the cake.’
Cameron was no Bridezilla, but she did lose her cool at two separate points during her special day.
When the lights flickered and went out for 10 seconds before her big bridal entrance, Diaz could be heard cursing: ‘S***, f***, this is f***ed up. You’ve got to be f***ing kidding me!’
Five minutes later, the four-time Golden Globe nominee serenely marched down the aisle to Nat King Cole’s Stardust in a sparkly gown with a low-cut back.
The only other hiccup involved the couple’s five-year-old ring bearer – Sparrow Madden – the son of his twin brother Joel and Nicole Richie. ‘He dropped the ring and it rolled around eliciting much laughter from the guests.
And right before the cutting of the cake, the Other Woman star could be heard pleading with Pussycat Dolls’ Robin Antin and another gal pal to help her into her short-sleeved reception gown.
The Charlie’s Angel star as once in a long term relationship ith much younger Justin Timberlake (2003 – 2006). She also had long relationships with Jared Leto (1999 – 2003) and Matt Dillon (1995 – 1998)
The newly-wedded couple kept everything about their nuptials under wraps, even the wedding dress!
The event, which was planned by Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove, featured a Jewish ceremony on a stage set up inside of Diaz’s home. The bridesmaids wore black dresses and carried white bouquets, entering the room to a Ryan Adams song.
An officiant presided over the service, reading the seven blessings for the couple. When the time came for the pair to exchange rings, Benji accidentally dropped his, and the 100 guests laughed along with the bridal party. To seal the deal — as is custom in a Jewish ceremony — Madden stepped on and broke a glass as the crowd shouted, “Mazel Tov!”
“It was a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony,” a source told Us Weekly.
After the vows, Madden requested personal time with Diaz, during which they entered a private room for about 30 minutes, asking not to be disturbed — a Jewish wedding ritual known as Yichud.
Guests, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Samantha Ronson, Lionel Richie, Toni Collette, Nancy Juvonen, Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, and Robin Antin, enjoyed a cocktail hour in the backyard’s outdoor tent, which was decorated with olive trees, linen tablecloths, and beeswax candles. The newlyweds soon joined their friends and family in the tent, giving a welcome toast.
Toasts were given by Cameron’s mom Billie Diaz, her older sister Chimene Cain, and film mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg. The crowd was laughing and clapping throughout the speeches.
DJ Patrick Belton then brought everyone to the dance floor as guests danced to hits like Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” Jessie J’s “Bang Bang,” Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” and Bruno Mars’ “Treasure.”
Before the cake was cut at 10 p.m., Diaz slipped into a second white dress, short-sleeved and floor length with beading and sequins at the top. The couple then cut the cake and drank champagne as everyone cheered for them.
Although the majority of the guests left soon after, about 30 close friends and family remained at the house to party until midnight.
After a long day, the newlyweds spent their wedding night at home.
