FASCIST BNP CEASES TO EXIST. PARTY CANT AFFORD £25 REGISTRATION FEE

Following a long descent into insignificance, the far-right British National Party is officially no more.

Announcing the news with a whimper rather than a bang, the Electoral Commission tweeted:

British National Party (BNP) has today been removed from the register of GB political parties. BNP failed to confirm their registration details by deadline which is a legal requirement”

According to the EC, the party failed to pay the measly £25 required to stay registered.

‘The BNP’s statement of accounts were due on 7 July 2015,’ a statement said.

‘Their annual confirmation of registered details was therefore due on or before 7 January 2016.

‘The Electoral Commission did not receive the notification by this date and is required by law to remove the BNP from its register of political parties in Great Britain.’

Last year in the same week that the harrowing picture of baby Aylan Kurdi washed up on a beach shocked the public into action against the refugee crisis, the BNP thought it would be a good idea to demonstrate outside an immigration centre. Classy.

Members of the ultra-right wing group crawled out from under their rock to hold a rally in Croydon yesterday.

You may well be pleased to know that less than twenty people turned up.

Their numbers were completely dwarfed by the 150-plus anti-fascist activists.

On their website, the BNP claim the Croydon meeting was ‘successful’ but images of the event tell a *slightly* different story.

A lot of people took great delight in sharing pictures of the crowd. (Can you even call less than 20 people a crowd?)Embedded image permalink
