Ibadan, the largest city in Africa was today rocked by a shocking news.
A young man Oyelowo Ajanaku Oyediran was stabbed to death by his wife Yewande a daughter of Honorable Fatoki, a high profile lawyer.
Yewande slit her husband’s throat with a knife while he was sleeping. She was said to have earlier stabbed him that same night following a row over his alleged adultery after which he had gone to the hospital to be treated and the stab wound on the right shoulder was stitched.
Early hours of the morning while he was still sleeping with the effect of the drugs he had taken, Yewande slit his throat. Then she locked the doors and ignoring his weak plea for help, refused to call for help.
When it was almost too late, she called out to the landlandy who met Lowo in a pool of his own blood. He died few minutes later.
The Fatoki’s, a powerful political family in her defense have claimed that she is mentally unstable.

She, has since gone on the run and into hiding with the help of her family but the police are believed to be searching for her.
The couple had been married for three years without any children.

If this report is true, and from what I have read so far, it seems to me that this woman can only commit this cool and calculated act because she believes that she is powerful enough to escape punishment. Crime is an act against the Nigerian state, I sincerely hope that nobody is bigger than Nigeria and that this woman would be tried, and if found guilty punished appropriately according to the law of the land.
