MEET THE HANDSOME PRINCE SET TO BECOME THE NEW OONI OF IFE

Meet 40-year-old businessman tipped to become Ooni of Ife

Following the demise of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, the race of who emerges his successor has begun. There are 4 ruling houses in Ile-Ife, namely Lafogido, Giesi, Ogbooru and Osinkola. Oba Okunade Sijuwade is from the Ogboru ruling house. There are indications that the next Ooni of Ife will emerge from the Giesi ruling house. Members of the Giesi ruling house met on Saturday, 15th August 2015 at Akodi Agbedegbede (family house) in Ile-Ife. The meeting was attended by hundreds of princes, princesses and elders of the royal lineage. The legal process and content of the law that guides the selection of the Ooni was publicly presented to all the princes and princesses present.

To this end, one of the biggest contenders to watch is Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi who hails from the Giesi ruling house. About forty years ago in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, a prince was born into the Giesi Ruling House, Ojaja Royal Compound of Agbedegbede in Ile-Ife. He was named Adeyeye. Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was quietly delivered into the humble family of Prince Ropo and Late Mrs Margaret Wuraola Ogunwusi (Ile Opa family compound, Ile Ife). His father was a radio and television anchor and presentation star that spanned the entire mid-1980s to early 21st century in the South-western part of Nigeria. Though born quietly, Prince Ogunwusi’s excellence and outstanding acumen would soon start to announce itself for the world to behold.
