Mel B’s husband Stephen Belafonte is reportedly ‘homeless and broke’ amid the divorce from the former Spice Girl, having allegedly run up a bill of $60,000 (£46,800) on his credit card.

The pair have been entangled in a bitter divorce, with Mel alleging numerous claims of assault and forced threesomes against Stephen over their 10-year marriage, which he has strongly denied.

According to TMZ, Stephen has filed legal documents which claim he’s unable to afford a place of his own after being kicked out the marital home in March.

He’s also claimed Mel is being purposefully difficult when it comes to selling the $8 million (£6.2mil) home, turning away an American football player who wanted to view the house.

It’s apparently led Stephen to couch surf with friends during the proceedings.

While he doesn’t say how much he wants in spousal support, Stephen says: ‘We lived a very comfortable, upper-class lifestyle… money was never an obstacle.’

Stephen also reportedly wants $200k (£150k) for his divorce lawyers and $55k (£43k) for his accountant.

Mel B was recently granted a five-year restraining order from nanny Lorraine Gilles, who she alleged slept with her husband, and that she became pregnant with his baby.

Lorraine, however, has since hit back against the claims, and filed her own lawsuit against Mel for defamation
