OGUN TRIBUNAL DISMISSES CASE AGAINST AMOSUN ELECTION

The Ogun State Elections Tribunal sitting at Isabo in the state capital has thrown out the case brought by the PDP Governorship aspirant Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka for lack of merit.

The verdict also serves as a reaffirmation of the election of Governor Ibikunle Amosun as the duly elected governor of Ogun State.

The news was received with loud cheers and jubilation.

Many had gathered around Isabo area outside the court premiss from the early hours of this morning in anticipation of the verdict. This blogger spoke to some of the pro Amosun jubilants outside the couyrthiuyse who expressed their lack of surprise at the verdict and dismay that the petition was brought about in the first instance.

Police had mounted road blocks around the area and traffic through Isabo was restricted for security reasons and in anticipation of protest violence from supporters of the PDP aspirant. There was however, little signs oif that as at the time of composing this blog.
