The news that is certain to throw millions of teenage girls – and some of their mothers into a frenzy came late Sunday night that the boyband was to split – for at least one year. This according to the statement is to allow the boys pursue certain individual projects and possibilities.

In a development spookilly similar to the split of Take That in the 90s following Robbbie’s departure from the group,  the news of the split of the boyband which has been together for 5 years, came after Zayn’s dramatic departure in March.

The group was formed on the X-Factor in 2010  and the boys have gone on to conquer the world including the US which many before them had failed to take.

But consistent travelling and performing on stages all over the world and the rigours of recording including their just released 5th album, must have taken their toll on the boys as bandmate Liam Payne was recently heard saying on a Radio interview “You know, I think everyone needs a little bit of a break now, and a sit down and a stop, to kind of take in all the great things that’ve happened.’
Observers say that the split would have happened sooner or later and Zayn’s leaving want a direct catalyst.

The split is scheduled to occur in March 2016, exactly a year to the date that Zayn left the group
