Sahara Reporters publisher, Sowore Omoyele has reacted to reports that says Senator Dino Melaye is heading to new York to sue him and his tabloid.

According to Sowore, he cannot wait to hear the testimony of the president of Harvard University during the trial. He said;

 

“Just received the news that Senator Dino Melaye will be suing us in New York on Friday. We totally welcome this development. Can’t wait to hear the testimony of the President Of Harvard University during the trial.
Thanks”

It will be recalled that SaharaReporters recently broke the story revealling facts about the Senator’s educational background. These facts centre around whether the senator actually did graduate from Havard University and London School of Economics as he had claimed.

It also questioned if Melaye did actually complete his under graduate degree course in Geography from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria.

The authorities at Harvard took the step of denying the senator was ever a student at the University and thus could not have graduated from the institution.  They did however confirm that Dino only attended a short course.

However the current VC at ABU Zaria has made a statement of confirmation to the Senate Standards committee that Senator Melaye was indeed a student at the University and graduated with a 3rd class Degree in 2000. However, questions are still being asked as to how the Senator could have observed the compulsory National Service in 1990 – a year before graduation.

The regulation stipulates that all Nigerian graduates must observe the 1 year National Service after graduation.
