SARAKI ALLEGEDLY DELEGATES SENATE PRESIDENCY TO DEPUTY EKWEREMADU

Unconfirmed reports reaching us claim that Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy Nigerian Senate President, has taken full charge of senate leadership as the de facto Senate President.

This development occured following the Code of Conduct Tribunal Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar’s  verdict which takes the embattled President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki out of his role.

The corruption trial of Dr. Bukola Saraki will now be held on a daily basis, morning till night (10am to 6pm) until the case has reached it’s conclusion.

The verdict implies that the Senate President must be present at the tribunal every day during the stipulated time and will have no time for any legislative functions hence the need for delegation of Senate Presidency powers to his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu of the PDP last week.
