“SELF RELIEF” BOOTHS FOR MEN POP UP IN NEW YORK CITY

You couldn’t make this up.

A company called Hot Octopuss (HO) has set up a “GuyFi” booth on 28th St. and 5th Ave. in New York City, for men to “relieve stress” — euphemism for masturbation.

The masturbation booth is actually a phone booth with a cloth draped over it. Inside the booth was a chair and a laptop.

HO claims approximately 100 men used the booth on its inaugural day.

The company says the booth was “inspired” by a Time Out survey that claimed 39% of NYC men admitted to masturbating while at work. Another survey of 1,000 men in 2012, by Glamour magazine, said 31% of its readers had masturbated at work.

HO claims to be doing a public service, so that instead of masturbating at work, men can “take this habit out of the office and into a more suitable environment designed to give the busy Manhattan man the privacy, and the high-speed Internet connection, he deserves.” A representative of the company mealy-mouthed to Masable: “We may be insinuating that these booths could be used in whichever way anyone would like to ‘self soothe,’ but the brand is not actively encouraging people to masturbate in public as that is an illegal offense.”

HO is sex toys company established by two Brits, and the GuyFi booth obviously is a low-cost publicity gimmick. How long do you figure before the laptop and chair are stolen, assuming they are still in the booth?

The article on Gateway Pundit generated many readers’ comments, the funniest is this one

As I had suspected, there’s a homosexual angle to the masturbation booth.

The company, HO, sells “male sex toys”.

What next? Quickie tents?
