Sian Blake murder suspect Arthur Simpson-Kent has been arrested in Ghana.
The arrest was confirmed by Interpol’s director in Ghana.
The director told The Sun: ‘He has been arrested. He had a knife and a spoon on him.
‘They will get him to Accra later tonight.’
It comes after police discovered the bodies of Miss Blake and her sons, Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, in the garden of the family home in Erith, Kent, earlier this week.
Miss Blake was last seen with her sons in east London on December 13.
Metropolitan Police officers spoke to Simpson-Kent on December 16 at the family home but he vanished shortly after. He is believed to have traveled to Ghana via the Netherlands just before the bodies were discovered.
The force has faced questions over why it took so long for its murder squad to become involved in the investigation.
The case was taken over by homicide detectives on Monday, before the three unidentified bodies were found the next day at the Erith address.
