It was the beginning of a dream come true for TEAMUK Management when the young men of TeamUK football team, the Soaring Eaglets, took on the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria who are also the FIFA Under 17 World Champions, in a friendly match held at the Abuja National Stadium, Nigeria.

According to Youth Ambassador Yomi Soile, the friendly trial match was held to give young players of Nigerian descent from the UK diaspora a chance to play for their National team.

Some of these young people had never been to Nigeria or Africa before and the trip helped educate them more about their culture, people, living conditions, and more. It was a great experience for them moreso that 3 of the lads were spotted and 2 have been called to Camp with immediate effect by the Golden Eaglets Coach towards going to the World Cup in Chile, this October 2015..

While in AbuJa, the boys also visited some orphanages and donated sports kits and materials made available by Charlton Athletics Football Club in line with Team Nigeria Uk’s mission to support the development of sports in Africa at grassroots level. This was also to use sports as a tool to teach core values and important life skills to young people and to touch lives of the less priviledged.

The lads are now back in the UK and enegised by their positive experience, would now be looking forward to more chalenges and experiences in their footballing career.

We are proud of them and wish them higher heights indeed.
