It is with great pleasure that I can update that Dr Seb Kola-Bankole’s condition is progressing and is expected to be repatriated this weekend. The appeal raised for donations towards his treatment in the U.S. hospital and repatriation to the UK has so far reached £193,978.

As long as there are no changes to Seb’s condition, he has been signed off for release by the hospital. Thanks to your continued generosity and support plans have been finalised and we expect Seb home this weekend.

Seb has been incredibly strong and since coming off sedation, we are seeing signs of progress (definitely smiling and responding) and are cautiously optimistic. However I wouldn’t want to comment on his prognosis till he is safely back in the UK and has been assessed by his friends and colleagues in the NHS who will lead his long term recovery.

We are grateful to the doctors at Sunrise who have continued to care for him and have got him to a point where he is coming home.
