YOUNG NIGERIAN BORN FOOTBALL PLAYER DIES AFTER PLAYING VIDEO GAME

A TALENTED young footballer died suddenly just hours after playing a FIFA video game with his teammates.

Tragic Prosper Onakoya, ten, was only recently diagnosed with an illness and had to stop lining out for Cherry Orchard FC in his native Ballyfermot, Dublin.

The midfield ace, originally from South Africa, stayed in touch with his pals, inviting them around to his house to play FIFA

But Prosper — better known as Yaya or The Hulk by his teammates — died on Sunday, plunging the soccer community into mourning.

Prosper’s coach and Cherry Orchard PRO Don O’Reilly told the Irish Sun last night: “The club is absolutely devastated.

“Prosper was a really great player and a beautiful child. I coached him for the past two seasons. He was a real talent. Who knows how far he would have gone?

“His teammates had just played FIFA with him a few hours before he died. We’re all devastated.”

All Cherry Orchard FC league games have been called off for this coming weekend.

The club and Onakoya family said in a statement: “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to each and every person and club that have left heart felt messages on the death of our Prosper.

“One thing is for sure, we may have rivalry on pitches and sidelines at times and that’s part of football, but times like this it really makes you realise that we are all one big football family and everything else goes out the window.
