CORONATION STREET
Fans of the Websters can rejoice as Kevin looks set to be sticking around – and, with the imminent returns of Sophie and Rosie, the clan look set to be stronger than ever as Coronation Street moves into 2017.
There are big storylines in the pipeline for Kevin, played by Michael Le Vell, as his relationship with Anna Windass continues and he also finds himself in the frame for an attack on Pat Phelan – and there will also be a fair few headaches for him as his daughters arrive back on the cobbles.
Michael is said to have signed on the dotted line to stay on Corrie for at least another year.
A source told The Sun: ‘He is more content with life than ever at the moment – happy with just about everything. It’s going to be another happy new year for him. He is a professional at work, always punctual and knows his lines off by heart which is a godsend to the production people.’
Coronation Street is firing on all cylinders at the moment and winning lots of praise from gripped fans who are currently looking forward to plots including Peter Barlow’s secret, Aidan and Maria’s affair and the return of Toyah Battersby.
Coronation Street are hugely excited for the imminent return of Rosie Webster and, with Helen Flanagan reportedly already back filming, there isn’t long to wait before we see her again. Next year, Sophie will return from Miami with her sister in tow to the shock of Sally and Kevin – and there is trouble ahead as Rosie is clearly hiding a secret.
With the scenes expected to air in early 2017, just what has brought Rosie home – and will there be headaches in store for her parents?
A Coronation Street spokesperson said: ‘Sophie lands back on the cobbles and, along with her holiday souvenirs, she has also brought back a surprise visitor for Sally and Kevin – big sister Rosie. On the surface it looks like Rosie has been living the high life in the States, but all is not what it seems as yet again Rosie brings a whole load of trouble to the Websters’ door.’
A lot has changed since Rosie left for the US – Jason has now gone and Sally is now married Tim while Kevin is living with Anna. But one thing that never changes is Rosie’s penchant for bringing chaos to Weatherfield – and we can’t wait!
EMMERDALE
Aaron Dingle is about to turn to crime by breaking into Home Farm in Emmerdale – both in order to pay back Rebecca White for crass comments and fuelling his insecurity around Robert Sugden and also to raise a deposit for Mill Cottage as he doesn’t want to use Gordon’s money.
When Rebecca makes an ill advised joke about how Aaron can afford the Mill, not knowing his full past, he is left enraged and soon he is kicking off a risky plan. He breaks into Home Farm and starts raiding the safe – only for Rebecca to arrive home.
Spotting the open safe, Rebecca heads to the Woolpack and while it might initially seem like Aaron’s about to be busted, he is soon left relieved to be able to tell Liv that they are buying Mill Cottage
EASTENDERS
Jay Brown’s recent past is about to come back and haunt him in a deeply hurtful way in EastEnders as a police worker reveals that he has to move out of the Mitchells given the fact that underage Louise lives there.
The dramatic turn of events is due to the fact that Jay is on the sex offenders register after pleading guilty to entering into an illegal relationship with schoolgirl Star, despite the fact that he was unaware of her true age.
The police public protection officer arrives to check up on Jay’s living conditions and when he learns that he is living with Louise, he reveals that Jay will need to immediately find somewhere to live and also suggests an investigation may have to take place.
While Phil puts his foot down and tells him that Jay isn’t going anywhere, could the defiance land Jay in even more trouble?
Meanwhile, Jay is left mortified when he learns he will have to kiss Louise in the Christmas play and realises that he has to pull out. As Jay realises that the conviction will keep affecting his life, will he hit rock bottom again?
There’s more heartbreak in store for the Mitchells in EastEnders as Phil continues to try and prepare them for the worst by accepting that this may well be his last Christmas. And, feeling sombre, Phil announces that he wants to be alone on Christmas Day, leaving his relatives upset.
Sharon is making plans for the day to be special for her husband but Phil, who is in a bad way, demands that he wants to be by himself for the day. Seeking advice from Linda, Sharon gives Phil a thoughtful present but when a new armchair is delivered to make him more comfortable, Phil’s reaction leaves her disappointed.
Beginning to see Phil’s side of things, Sharon books a pub lunch for the family and tells everyone that they are eating out on Christmas Day to give Phil some space. While Louise is instantly against this idea, Sharon is insistent and reminds her that they may need to face reality – this could be Phil’s last Christmas and they need to respect his wishes.
But does she truly have the resolve to believe in what she is saying herself or will she crack under the pressure?
