THIS EVIL UNCHRISTIAN AND UNGODLY PRACTICE HAS GOT TO STOP!

ENOUGH TALKING. IT’S TIME FOR ACTION!

I have deliberately kept mum over the gruesome murder of the 7 (or 17) year old boy – age irrelevant- in Lagos and the pictures that have been making their rounds on social media. It’s suddenly like everyone has to have a say and almost everyone of my friends have posted a comment on the barbaric incident.
I myself first had the pictures sent to me on Saturday but decidedly ignored it due to the gruesome nature and didn’t believe it is what I want to share.

The point now is – firstly to question the nature or kinds of “Christians” that are being bred in Nigeria because I can bet, many of the onlookers and possibly the perpetrators are church goers (I can’t speak for other religions) but I have read some bone chilling comments posted by so called Nigerian based Christians on similar subjects in times past and their collective opinion is all about dishing out jungle judgement and punishment.

And the frequency at which these kinds of inhumane treatments occur tells me it is exactly what folks believe in and will do over and over again. Many Christians seem stuck in the old testament mosaic religion where there is no love or grace or hope for redemption brought by Jesus Christ and where every offensive act is punished openly by the same jungle justice being practiced today. (Stoning, lynching, chopping off of limbs etc)

And more alarmingly we have heard instances where the police have been alerted but they have stood back and look on failing to protevt the lives of the victims. The Nigerian Police seems institutionally ignorant of the fact that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and that everyone deserves the protection of the state regardless of what they’ve been accused of. Crimes are only to be punished under the judicial system after such person has been found guilty of the alleged  crimes following a trial at a court of law.

Let’s call on the Nigerian government to outlaw the practice of Jungle Justice in Nigeria. Please support this motion by signing my petition. Kindly visit:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/outlaw-jungle-justice-in-nigeria.html

But either because the Nigerian Police Force itself is populated by a bunch of illitetate, untrained and  uneducated morons who have no knowledge whatsoever of  the practice of Law and Order…or they lack the empowerment and resources to do their job so they stand back and let mobs of bloodthirsty, lawless masses to it for them. And every time someone is stripped naked, beaten, flogged, stoned or burnt to death    or had broken bottles forced up their vigina, the social media army excitedly rush to type their indignation and horror but no one takes any decisive action to put a stop to this madness.

Just as we have done on this latest case .

Now that we’ve all had our say, my question is what are we going to do?

Many of us have our state Governors, Senators and even Commissioners on our friends list. LETS START a # and direct comments directly to them till they land on some reasonable ears.

THIS EVIL UNCHRISTIAN AND UNGODLY PRACTICE HAS GOT TO STOP!

Last week, Senator Dino Melaye took up the issue of tribal marks after the horrible pictures of the baby whose face was horrifically mutilated surfaced, and raised the bill for the eradication of the tradition in the House. Hopefully it will soon be passed into law. (Well done for that, Senator)

We need the same bill for the outlawing of jungle justice in Nigeria and guilty parties be liable to face firing squads.

And more importantly,  the police has to do more to prevent these occurences and protect the lives of victims.

Because until this happens, I’m sorry, this evil practice will only continue.

Good morning my dear lovely friends.
