My thought for today: Whatever you wouldn’t want people to talk negatively about, don’t do. And if you must, do it in the privacy of your own home.
Nowadays people especially those who’ve been caught up on deliberate acts of non conformance, are quick to cry ” Don’t judge me ” or ” you’re so judgemental ”
What happened to the right to free speech? or the right to be able to assess a situation and form your own opinion? Many liberalists and non conformist expect the whole world to revolve only around them and their actions. They will be the first to tell you it is their right to do what they want; be whatever they want or wear whatever they want yet not expect others to have an opinion especially when they have brought their actions into the public forum – thus making it everyone else’s business !
If you’re bold enough to publicly flaunt “it” then you must also be ready to take what people will say about you.
The same freedom you have to do what exactly you want, is the same others have to voice their opinion and say whatever they want to say.
People have the right to form opinions and make judgement calls based on what is openly placed in front of them and when you expose yourself to the whole world or put yourself out there in the public view, you make yourself open to all forms of views and comments.
What you don’t want to be negatively talked about, or if you know it will bring offence to others, then please don’t do it. But don’t make a public show of yourself and expect folks to keep quiet. You cannot court or attract controversy or reaction and then cry foul when the reactions come pouring over you.
It is a form of non aggressive bullying when you publicly misbehave or mis present yourself and order people to “not judge you”. It’s like are calling into question or putting a muzzle on their ability to determine right from wrong especially when your action goes contrary to what is universally accepted as right.
How you are dressed is how you will be addressed.
You cannot have your cake and eat it.
As you have the right to be nonchalant, others have the right to be judgemental.
NO ONE OWNS THE MONOPOLY ON RIGHTS OR FREEDOM
